Tim Whiting began his career as a Financial Planning Consultant with Sun Life of Canada in 1986. After running the residential mortgage and commercial finance section of a leading London-based national independent brokerage, he became a shareholder and director of FDW and then Tresman & Partners in February 1992.

Tim founded Timothy James & Partners in 1995, and is the firm's Managing Director. In 2002, he was nominated by Who's Who for young Entrepreneur of the Year.


Ian Hart joined Timothy James & Partners as a shareholder early in 1996. His career started with five years at Scottish Equitable, a leading investment and pensions office.

Over the course of the next five years, he worked for two firms of Independent Financial Advisers including his father's well known company Myles Hart & Co. before moving with his own established client base to Timothy James & Partners.


Chris Bryans joined Timothy James & Partners as a Board Director in 2005, when the firm acquired C W Financial Consultants, which he set up and had run since 1990.

Chris started his training as a chartered accountant, but his interest in tax and trust planning took him in a different direction and he started his IFA career with the Royal Trust Bank in 1983.


Angela Torpey joined Timothy James & Partners Ltd in February 1998 having previously worked as Sales Support at NPI for 4 years. Angela originally worked with Tim Whiting in an administrative role before leaving to travel the world, she returned to Timothy James & Partners Ltd in January 2000.

Angela has had various roles within TJP and as a result has a broad knowledge of the company and financial services in general. Angela is now Operations Director and became a Shareholder in July 2006.


Andy Bracken has been with Timothy James & Partners since 1997, becoming a shareholder in 1998. His career started at the Ministry of Agriculture, where he spent four years as a Private Secretary. He moved to NPI in 1989, specialising principally in pensions and investments. He has subsequently expanded his pensions expertise by gaining a distinction in the G60 pension examination.

Andy has recently assisted companies in purchasing their own buildings through their pension schemes, and in particular has worked with a variety of barristers on such projects. Driven by client demands, he has also become heavily involved in mortgage work.


Robert Guy became a financial adviser in 1987 having previously been Technical Director for John Charcol Ltd before joining Timothy James & Partners in 2002. He was recently voted by personal finance journalists to be the Media Services IFA of the year.

Robert holds the advanced planning and pensions qualifications. He specialises in giving advice to clients approaching retirement - with particular emphasis on advising how to maintain living standards after leaving work, and how to effectively convert pensions, investments and savings to achieve a substainable income. He is also one of the few advisers in the country with in-depth knowledge of multi-currency mortgage debt management.


Wendy Robbins joined Timothy James & Partners in 2000 to manage the administration of our mortgage cases. She has over 30 years experience in the Insurance and Building Society sector.

Wendy has worked both as a Mortgage Administration Manager, and managed a London Intermediary Centre for a major Building Society. As you can imagine, she has a comprehensive knowledge of mortgage lending - including all the latest trends.


Dawn Buckland was an adviser for the wealth management arm of BDO Stoy Hayward prior to joining Timothy James & Partners. She has practical experience in a wide range of sophisticated financial planning vehicles and has particular interest in pensions planning - the more complicated the better.

Dawn brings many experiences to her role including the key communication skills gained during five years in public relations and the management skills derived from being a working mother of two!


Neil Avery began his career in financial services in 1991, as a specialist in the mortgage market. He worked for HSBC's Private Client and Wealth Management Division - gaining expertise in investment portfolio construction and management - prior to joining Timothy James & Partners in May 2004 and since becoming a Shareholder in August 2006.

Neil holds advanced industry qualifications in taxation, trusts and personal investment planning and takes a holistic approach to financial planning.


Philip Steer joined Timothy James and Partners Ltd in 2005 having previously provided technical support to Chris Bryans at CW Financial Consultants since 2002. Philip’s career began with Canada Life in 1998 where he gained extensive knowledge and practical experience of financial planning, specialising in pension and investment products.

Philip holds the Chartered Insurance Institutes Advanced Financial Planning Qualifications, including credits in pensions, tax, trusts, investment planning and mortgages all of which enables Philip to provide holistic financial advice to clients.


Keith Sheehan joined Timothy James & Partners Ltd. in 2007 having previously worked for Origen Financial Services for 7 years, advising both private and corporate clients. His experience within the financial service industry spans back to 1996 and he has been a financial planner since 2000.

Keith is currently one of only a few financial advisers in the UK to be a chartered Financial Planner, having successfully passed the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Advanced Diploma. He is an holistic adviser with special interest in pensions, investment planning, long term care and mortgages (including equity release and home reversion).

David Healy started his career in financial services in 1997 with Sun Life Financial of Canada. He joined Timothy James & Partners in 2007 as a dedicated private client adviser having developed a broad experience from a variety of roles across both large and small advisory houses including Marsh Financial Services, Origen and Berkeley Burke.

David’s clients include Barristers, Solicitors and accounting professionals, as well as dentists and doctors. His main areas of expertise are designing and maintaining investment portfolios, structured inheritance tax planning, and retirement planning.
